One custom stamp can carry your wedding design across everything you send and hand out, from save-the-dates to thank-you notes. It costs less than printing every piece, and hand-stamped details feel personal in a way printing doesn't.
Where to use it
- Envelope return address. The most-used wedding stamp by far. You'll use it again for RSVPs, showers, and thank-you notes.
- Save-the-dates and invitations. A monogram or crest in the corner of plain cardstock looks custom-printed.
- RSVP cards and envelopes.
- Favor tags, bags, and boxes. Kraft tags and bags take ink beautifully.
- Welcome bags, menus, and place cards.
- Thank-you notes. After the wedding, the same stamp keeps working.
Design ideas
- Monogram: your initials, simple or in a wreath or crest.
- Names and date: "Emma & James · 06.14.27".
- Return address: your new shared address, with or without a small monogram.
- Venue sketch: a line drawing of the chapel, barn, or tree where you're getting married.
- A symbol that's yours: a flower from the bouquet, a pet, a place that matters.
Keep lines bold enough to hold up: at least 0.3 mm, and text at least 7 pt. Your proof will flag anything too fine.
Rubber or self-inking?
For invitations and favors, a wood-mounted rubber stamp lets you use any ink pad, including metallic, pastel, or white ink on kraft. For stamping a stack of 150 envelopes, a self-inking stamp is faster and cleaner, and it prints the same every time.
When to order
Save-the-dates usually go out 6 to 8 months before the wedding and invitations 6 to 8 weeks before. Order your stamp at least 2 to 3 weeks before you plan to start stamping. That covers the proof, 3 business days to make and test it, shipping, and time to practice.
Tips for clean stamping
- Practice on scrap of the same paper first.
- Press straight down with firm, even pressure. Don't rock the stamp.
- Re-ink every time with a rubber stamp for an even impression.
- Let it dry. Lay envelopes out flat for a few minutes before stacking, especially on coated or glossy paper.
- Paper matters. Uncoated and cotton papers take ink best. Very glossy stock can smear.
